Ocre jaune foncé JFLES (Jaune Foncé Lavé Extra Supérieur) (= dark yellow ochre JFLES - Dark Yellow Washed Extra Superior) is our ochre star. It is extracted from ochre ore in our quarry at Gargas (Vaucluse). To recover it pure, it is necessary to follow a long process of extraction, separation, washing, settling, drying and grinding (for more information on the manufacture of ochre, clic HERE). It is also with ocre jaune JFLES (dark yellow ochre JFLES) that ocre rouge RFLES (red ochre RFLES) is made by calcinating it. Its color is luminous, soft.
